I just watched the video of Charlie Kirk being shot and killed today. And it shook me. As I should, anyone. What I, well, I don't share his ideology, what happened to him is sickening and this needs to stop. 

This is not what grace looks like. This is not what love looks like. This is not what kindness looks like. Susan, and what disagreement looks like. And despite our beliefs, we cannot allow ourselves to succumb to violence and killing. 

Even if you or I or whoever don’t agree with his rhetoric, His life still has value. Like everyone's does. And If not, and who decides what the line of disagreement is before you deserve to die from the hands of someone who doesn't agree with you. 

If this is where the society goes, where we just, Abuse or kill or hurt, or, Be violent towards whoever we don't agree with, How fair is it when it comes back to us? 

Charlie deserves love and grace. His killer deserves love and grace. And we need to put away our literal and figurative guns and stop the hostility towards each other. But I guess ultimately this just points out a symptom and not the problem, not the cause. 

The problem is we don't love ourselves. Problem is we don't love each other. 

And we don't love ourselves partly because we don't know how radically and recklessly we are loved and forgiven by God, that we all have value, that we are all human, that we are all God's kids. And I feel like once we realize that, That is the fruit. That will start to show itself with love and grace towards others.

 To me, this is what hell is. It's this. This space where this happens, where someone is so... Living in hell, that they're able to do this, when someone is so living in hell, that they're able to speak the things that some people speak, that are filled with hate, that are filled with racism, that are filled with violence. That's what hell is. And God's whole point is to drive hell out. And I believe that God does that, through his radical and reckless love and grace. 

So that's what I'm about. That's what I try to be, and that's what I try to speak of. It's just the transformative power of God's love and grace for all. For all Charlie's, for all of their killers. They were all broken, suffering people, and until we really start to grapple and get our minds around how much we are cherished and loved and embraced by our creator, by God. This will continue to happen. 

Anyhow. I am sad. I am shook up. And I mourn for his family and his wife and his kids. And I honestly mourn for what's going to happen to our country as this continues. All the more reason to talk about and share and promote and send this message of love, but grace and forgiveness for all. into the world. I hope you're doing okay. I hope you have a good day. Despite all of this. And hang in there. Love wins. And it will get better.
